Where are you from originally?
Born in Kona, Hawaii. Raised in Ka’u on the south shore of the Big island.

Where do you live now?
On the Big island.


How old are you?
Old enough to know better, young enough to be full of energy.

How long have you been bodyboarding?
17 + years.

Prone or DK?
If both, how much of each? DK!!! 80% DK and 20% Prone.

Who do you bodyboard with?
Mostly with my DK friend wills kekoa “lams” and a surfer koa or solo.

What are your favorite bodyboard spots?
The kine thick slabs and fat sections to boost and long barrels offshore winds!!

Where have you traveled to bodyboard?
California, Oahu and Kauai.

Where do you want to travel to bodyboard?
Tahiti, Indo, Samoa, OZ, South Africa, Spain, Fiji,
Christmas Islands, Tavarua, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Japan.

What board(s) do you ride?
I’m riding the Exodus from Custom X. Sick DK board!

Do you compete?
yes i have, but I’m not rich enough to take it farther from where i live and i don’t like crowds at all!

If so, what competitions have you competed in?
I have won 1st 7 local amateur contest “Lokahi O’ Kawaa” at the home break sandbar.

What is the bodyboarding community in Hawaii like?
Spread out and sparsely under rated, needs more motivating contest and events.

Do you have any sponsors? What companies?
One sponsor,2yrs with Custom X Bodyboards.

What other board sports do you partake in?
I can short board well.

What bodyboard goals do you have?
Mastering the Art of Drop Knee and taking it to Pipe and Backdoor one day to put it to use.

Where do you see bodyboarding going in the future?
DK air reverses,DK ARS, back flips and DK snaps larger sprays than surfboards.

What riders influenced your bodyboarding?
Mike Stewart,Fred Booth,Paul Roach, Kainoa Mcgee, Cris Won, Jack Lindholm, Kyle Maligro, Ben Z, Tamega.

What riders are pushing the sport right now?
Micah M., Hubb ,Andrea B., Mason R., Roach, Nakana.

If you were stranded on a desert island that already has a plentiful resource of bodyboards and fins what three things would you bring?
A woman, some seeds and of course sunblock.

What is the best advice you can give to a bodyboard grom trying to get recognized?
#1 Go big with power and style, stay healthy, focus moves with the flow, ride with control, be balanced to stabilize completion….you’ll be noticed.

Any last words of advice? Shout outs?
Don’t get in over your head..walk the walk before you talk it. Main thing i’d Like to thank God for every little thing, my dad and mom for being surfers here on the islands and keeping the vibe of the ocean waves going, thank all Rasta’s black or white for righteous music and words of wisdom, also like to thank and bless everyone supporting Bodyboarding, live it up in Aloha,positively keep it alive, be safe have fun, respect the ocean no litter, Malama Aina!   3. Thanks Ryan, Yes works perfect ! The concave was what boards needed to help master the art of DK and dont worry i’m motivated for life…Bodyboarding is my life!!
